By Dr. Adaobi Nwankwo, Department of Sociology and Anthropology. Automation is reshaping the labor market, but social scientists are essential to navigating this transition. Who will study the impact of AI on vulnerable workers? Who will design inclusive policies that ensure technological gains are shared broadly? The social sciences are not peripheral to the Fourth Industrial Revolution—they are central to ensuring it benefits all of humanity. Our faculty is preparing students to lead this critical work.
