A research team led by Dr. Ngozi Eze of the Department of Economics presented groundbreaking findings on "The Digital Economy and Youth Employment in Sub-Saharan Africa" at the United Nations Digital Transformation Summit in Geneva. The research, which surveyed over 5,000 young Nigerians across 12 states, found that digital skills training can increase youth employment rates by 47%. The presentation was attended by representatives from the World Bank, International Labour Organization, and UNICEF. The research has already influenced policy recommendations being considered by the National Economic Council.
